LIVAMED 1

Livamed 1mg/tab by Deus Medical is a statin used to treat high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) and mixed dyslipidemia. It works by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme in the liver, which reduces the body's natural production of cholesterol.

This medication helps lower total cholesterol, LDL (bad cholesterol), and triglyceride levels, while modestly increasing HDL (good cholesterol). It is often prescribed to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in adults with elevated cholesterol levels.

Livamed is typically taken once daily, with or without food. The usual starting dose is 1mg per day, and the dosage may be adjusted depending on cholesterol levels and tolerance. The maximum dose should not exceed 4mg daily.

Unlike other statins, Pitavastatin has a lower risk of interacting with other medications, making it a preferred option in patients taking multiple drugs. It is not suitable for use in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

This product is not intended for children. Common side effects may include mild muscle pain, headache, or digestive upset. Rare but serious side effects can include liver enzyme elevation or rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown), and liver function should be monitored during treatment.
