Enclomiphene is a non-steroidal selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that functions as an estrogen receptor antagonist. It promotes gonadotropin-dependent testosterone secretion by the testes by inhibiting estrogen receptors in the pituitary gland, which disrupts the negative feedback normally given by estrogen. This leads to an increase in gonadotropin secretion, causing the testes to produce more testosterone.
